Brian Heller de Leon is the Executive Director of The GreenHouse. Brian is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary and U.C. San Diego. Brian's previous work experiences include student ministry in the U.S. and Mexico with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, faith-based community organizing in diverse congregations with the PICO National Network, and policy advocacy in the Capitol with the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice. Brian and his wife Christie attend River Life Covenant Church and have lived in the Tahoe Park neighborhood of Sacramento since 2006. They are very busy enjoying new life in their family with the recent arrival of Carolina Joy and the many new adjustments for her big sister Anna.
Rena Crocker, part-time Deputy Director - Rena supports the Executive Director with fundraising, staff development, program support, and communications. Rena has worked with kids, youth and families for 20 years. Her most recent roles include serving as an Associate Pastor in a Covenant Church, and directing parent engagement and support programs at a Family Resource Center in Berkeley.
Deborah Blanco is the Director of Elementary Programs for The GreenHouse. Deborah grew up in Salinas and moved to Sacramento in 2008 to attend CSU Sacramento. Deborah graduated in May 2011 with a B.A. in Social Work and soon after began working at The GreenHouse as an Americorps Summer Associate and then as our year-long VISTA. After doing a terrific job with our youth, Deborah was hired back as our Director of Elementary Programs. Deborah enjoys reading, eating, international social work and traveling. Deborah loves to spend time with her large family of nine and is passionate about working with communities that are under-resourced.
Brenda Martinez is our Volunteer and Parent Engagement Coordinator. Brenda grew up in the apartments and was part of The GreenHouse programs in elementary school. After moving away, she stayed in touch through our "GreenHouse Grads" young women's group. Brenda is in her 3rd year at Sacramento City College, and also works part-time providing home health care to adults with disabilities.
Josiah Gorter is our Director of Teen Leadership and Academic Programs. He was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI and recently graduated from Calvin College with a degree in Philosophy and Psychology. Josiah is also helping lead "The Grace House", a new missional community program of the Christian Reformed Church. This house is intended for recent college graduates looking to make a difference in their community. Josiah has always had a passion for working with children, and for creating opportunities for young people to improve their situations. He has children’s ministries in the past in both Grand Rapids and Detroit, and is looking forward to helping The GreenHouse impact the lives of young people in Sacramento.
Janelle Torres is the Coordinator of our "Youth and Family Faith Formation" Programs (YF3) - Janelle grew up in the Northgate neighborhood and is now a Sophomore at Sac State majoring in English. She attends Vida Church in Del Paso Heights and brings a passionate love for God, natural preaching abilities, and deep commitment to teens and families in this community. Janelle coordinates our weekly "Oasis" faith formation program for Jr High and Sr High teens.
Lisa Martucci, Bookkeeper - Lisa is a QuickBooks guru and provides bookkeeping services for several area churches and Christian non-profits. She's a huge asset to our team!
