Volunteer Opportunities School Year Study Buddy: Volunteer Study Buddies are needed for
Evergreen and R4 after-school programs. Study Buddies are paired with a small group of students to help them with
homework and build a mentoring relationship with them. Study Buddies are asked to commit 2 hours per week for at least
6 months. Fun Friday Leader: Volunteers are needed for Fun Fridays at Evergreen (Fridays from 3:45-5:45) to help kids with recreational activities (art, sports, sewing). Workshop leaders who can teach the kids a skill are also needed. Fun Friday Leaders commit 2 hours per week for at least 6 months. Year- Round Youth Leader: Volunteers are needed for Oasis, a Christian youth group
for junior and senior high students, and Club 56, a Christian youth group for 5th and 6th graders. Youth leaders build
relationships with students by playing games with them and leading small group discussions. Guest Speaker: We are always looking for guest speakers who would like to share their special talents with our kids. Previous workshops have included: music, art, sports, launching bottle rockets, and information about college and careers. We welcome new ideas and experiences! Summer Adventure Guides: Day Camp leaders are needed to engage with children and help them experience recreational activities, including games, art, computers, math, reading. Adventure Zone (1st through 6th grade) is Monday-Friday (June-August) from 10:30am-1:30pm. Liquid (7th - 12th grade) is Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 2:30-5:30pm. Special Events Volunteers are needed for one-time events, including our Annual Harvest Carnival in October, Melvin’s Hope, and our Annual Fundraiser “Kids at Heart.” Contact Sade at sade@thegreenhousecenter.org.
