Job Title: Teen Program Support Staff

Location: The GreenHouse, Gardenland/Northgate neighborhood of Sacramento, CA

About Us: The GreenHouse is a Christian Community Enrichment Center dedicated to fostering a thriving community. Located in a high-density, affordable housing neighborhood, we provide after-school tutoring, mentoring, summer camps, youth groups, leadership development, and skill-based workshops for youth in 1st through 12th grade. Our mission is to nurture the emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and physical development of our youth and inspire them to reach their full potential. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Teen Programs to design and implement R4, an academic and enrichment program for junior and senior high students held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

  • Provide academic tutoring, homework assistance, and school support to teens within the R4 program and individually.

  • Lead enrichment activities within the R4 program.

  • Assist with preparation, setup, and cleanup for the R4 program.

  • Serve as a mentor, role model, and relational support to youth, fostering strong relationships, especially during High School Drop-Ins and Teen Internship Praxis meetings.

  • Engage with parents, collaborating with the GreenHouse staff team to support families as needed.

  • Participate in team planning meetings with the Teen Director and general staff team meetings.

  • Perform other organizational administrative duties as needed.

  • Contribute to organization-wide events and activities.

  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: College experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Alternatively, two years of experience leading youth ministry in an urban setting.

  • Skills: Strong administrative and relationship skills.

  • Experience: Minimum one year working with youth in an urban setting.

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of computers, the internet, and Google Workspace.

Position Specifics:

  • Rate: $17–19 per hour, depending on experience.

  • Hours: 15 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, with occasional Friday and Saturday events and field trips; hours differ significantly in June and July for summer program.
